Latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey Shows: Bulgarian Employers Continue to Report Cautiously Optimistic Hiring Plans for the Second Quarter of 2015

  • 18% of Bulgarian employers plan to increase their staff in the second quarter of 2015, and the seasonally adjusted Employment Outlook stands at +9%, according to the result of Manpower’s Employment Outlook Survey for the second quarter of 2015. Employers from eight of ten sectors plan to add new staff totheir workforce.
  • The latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey for the second quarter of 2015 is relatively stable when compared to both the first quarter of 2015 and year-over-year.
  • Employers fromboth the Finance, Insurance, Real Estate & Business Servicessector and the Transport, Storage & Communications sector report the strongest results for the second quarter, with Outlooks of +15%. Bulgarian Employers Report Favourable Hiring Plans for Q3 2014 Once Again

  • image001Nearly one in five Bulgarian employers plan to add to their payrolls in the third quarter of 2014, with positive hiring plans reported in all 10 industry sectors and all five regions. The Net Employment Outlook in Bulgaria for the period July-September stands at +14%. 
  • The Net Employment Outlook remains stable at +14 percentage points. The Outlook stays unchanged on a year-over-year and quarter-over-quarter basis.
  •  Forecasts show that the most optimistic hiring plans are expected in the sector of Hotels & Restaurants. The Net Employment Outlook for Q3 stands at +32%. Compared to the previous quarter (+33%), the forecast for the sector remains stable. Employers in the sector of Construction expect a sharp hiring increase, where the Net Employment Outlook for Q2 2014 was +1%, while it now stands at +15% for the July-September period. Bulgarian employers report a considerable increase in their hiring plans for Q2 2014

  • image001Nearly one out of five Bulgarian employers report positive hiring plans for the second quarter of this year. Bulgaria’s Net Employment Outlook for the April-June period stands at +14%.
  • The Net Employment Outlook increases by a margin of 13 percentage points quarter-over-quarter and by 2 percentage points on a year-over-year basis. In 2013, the Net Employment Outlook for Q2 was +12%.
  • The most notable increase is in the Restaurants and Hotels sector. In Q1 2014 the outlook was -16%, while now it is +33%. This is an increase of 49 percentage points on a quarter-over-quarter basis. This sector is followed by the sectors of Finance, Insurance, Real Estate and Business Services (+22%) and Transport, Storage and Communications (+19%). Employers in the sectors of Electricity, Gas and Water Supply (+2%) and Construction (+1%), report the most modest hiring plans.
  • Employers in the Rousse region report the strongest hiring intentions for Q2 2014 with a Net Employment Outlook of +19%, followed by Burgas (+15%), Plovdiv (+14%), Varna (+14%) and Sofia (+11%).

Sofia, March 11, 2014 – Bulgarian employers expect the hiring pace in the second quarter of 2014 to increase considerably with a Net Employment Outlook of +14%, which is a 13 percentage point increase compared to the previous quarter, and 2 percentage points stronger on a year-over-year basis. Out of 750 employers who took part in the survey, 19 percent state that they intend to hire employees in the period from April to June, while only 5 percent report plans to reduce their staff. Employers in the Rousse region report the strongest hiring plans for the second quarter of 2014.
